ABSTRACT
Philip Crosby, an engineer from Wheeling, West Virginia, is one of the modern founders of the quality movement. In the 1950s he developed the zero defects approach to quality control that places responsibility for quality in the hands of the workers. By motivating employees to do their best and to eliminate errors in their work altogether, this approach forces them to pay close attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness.
