ABSTRACT
Nepotism is defined as patronage or favors bestowed on the basis of family relationship and not of merit. Many companies hire family members of the owner and provide them with higher pay and faster advancement than other employees receive or give them other special favors such as country club memberships and extra vacation time. Some companies take the reverse tack and refuse to hire any relative of employees to avoid any questions of favoritism.
