ABSTRACT

In 1990 the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was passed, making it unlawful to discriminate in employment against a qualified individual with a disability. The ADA incorporates the remedies and procedures set out in Title VII of the Civil Rights Act (1964). Since the number of complaints filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is rising rapidly, it's important to be thoroughly familiar with this act. Unfortunately, the finer points of this law are extremely confusing and may require consultation with experts.
