Do you know what your responsibilities are as an employer if you receive a notice regarding child support from a state Child Support Enforcement (CSE) Office, other government agency, or attorney? In January 1994, wage withholding became a mandatory part of all child support orders, whether or not they were enforced by CSE programs. The federal Family Support Act of 1988 sets forth the rules and regulations covering wage withholding for child support.
