ABSTRACT
An important part of the forecasting process is establishing the objectives of the forecast. It is possible to have more than one objective for the same forecast. For example, let's say that Wanda's Widget World specializes in the production of widgets and the company is using a forecast to plan operations for the coming year. The forecast has two main purposes: to predict future sales and to estimate the resources that will be required to meet sales estimates.
