ABSTRACT

Many schools have been offering video production for a great many years, going back to the days of closed-circuit television and cameras with vacuum tubes. Editing was usually done clumsily using linear tape decks and copying shots from one machine to another. Many video production programs have developed out of technology careers and occupations programs in schools, districts, or counties. Film and television production is obviously a major industry in the United States. It is one of the country’s largest earners through export. There are many reasons schools invest in video production technology. Some of the reasons are beneficial to students, and some have less noble motives. Announcements are a popular video program production in many schools. They are usually daily live or taped broadcasts, often distributed through closed-circuit television, through a school or even a school district at a regularly scheduled time.
