ABSTRACT

The full-sized, industrial cameras are like the ones the videographer typically see used by television news teams. Camera operators often shoot with these by placing the back half of the camera on their shoulder with their right hand supporting the lens and front of the camera. Small-sized consumer cameras are like the ones sold at consumer electronic stores. They are small, compact, and usually weigh less than a few pounds. Since the entire camera will fit into the palm of videographer's hand, they are occasionally referred to as palmcorders. Betacam is primarily used by television stations, networks, and big-budget production companies for producing broadcast-quality programs. Camcorders will often be referred to as having a single chip (one-chip) or three chips. Three-chip cameras use three charge-coupled devices instead of one.
