ABSTRACT

In the previous chapter we considered the demand side of the space planning equation. We reviewed the wide-ranging demand variables that influence an organization’s need for workspace. In this chapter, we will consider the supply side of the space planning equation. The supply variables are concerned with factors that influence decisions about the provision of the real estate resource and the servicing of workspace in support of business processes. The supply variables that are embraced within the premises audit, cover issues relating to attributes of the location of the building, its condition, its effective utilization and its facilities support infrastructure.
