Having spent some time discussing assessment, we now need to look at ways to communicate with the trainees about their performance. This also needs to help them in their future development.

When working with S/NVQs, work-based assessors are helped by the fact that qualifications lay down the performance criteria very clearly. The assessor is then able to share the criteria with the trainees. This prevents them from having different views about what is and is not acceptable.
