ABSTRACT
The process of design and building is now much more rapid. There’s little room for evolution, little room to correct things even if they become obvious before buildings are finished. Buildings are shaped by their owners’ needs – but these may have nothing to do with the place’s needs. Buildings and the spaces between them often are little more than enclosers of quantitative space – so many cubic metres for this or that activity.
