ABSTRACT

What did you want to be when you grew up? My childhood choices were a priest, an astronaut, and a dancer. Since there were societal gender filters for the first two occupations excluding me from those at the time, I first focused on being a dancer. As Sally Ride made her way into the space program, I watched as a part of me went up with her. I’m not an astronaut, as things turned out, and my vocational ideas have changed over the course of my life. But three strong trends have emerged: entrepreneurial ventures, consulting, and writing.
