ABSTRACT
A team needs a name by which they can be recognized as a separate entity. The significance of a name for a team shouldn’t be underestimated. Very often it is the only means of providing continuity. For example, some people support the same sports team all their lives, yet the players are changed frequently, as is the management. The team may even move to a different home ground. The only thing that doesn’t change is the name.
