ABSTRACT

Fire risks are much more closely tied to location than to specific activities. The potential for harm or injury to an occasional visitor on site is relatively low, but they will be at greater risk from fire than someone who is familiar with the site. You will need to give greater consideration to the potential risks to customers, contractors, and even unauthorised visitors who may be on site if a fire occurs. An assessment of the risks must also consider other businesses that share the premises with you, and areas of communal or joint use, such as entrance halls, stair-wells, rubbish disposal points.
