ABSTRACT

Now that the photos are safely tucked into Lightroom, our goal is to fi nd the best way for you to organize these visual jewels so that you can fi nd them at a later date. The eff ort necessary to organize photos has increased with the advent of digital cameras. There was a natural barrier when we shot images with fi lm. The cost of the fi lm and developing had a dampening aff ect on the number of photos that we shot. When digital cameras fi rst came along, the high cost of memory cards also provided lesser restriction on the number of images that we took. Today with highcapacity memory cards costing very little, consumer digital cameras with 5-8 megapixel sensors becoming commonplace, and hard drives off ering almost limitless capacity it isn’t surprising the photo collections have become increasingly hard to manage.
