ABSTRACT
Although the types of software may differ from institution to institution, most libraries offer online public access catalogues (OPAC) to help students search the library using, for example, an author’s name, the book or journal title, or a key word. The system returns information about which books or journals are available in the library, shelf-mark information, the type of loan and number of copies available, and whether the copy is in the library or on loan.
