ABSTRACT
The ideal state of an object is one of its past states. Since we cannot reverse the arrow of time, we cannot actually re-create a past state. At best, we can make the object look or behave like it did at the time of its ideal state. Sometimes we can only approximate the desirable previous state, and sometimes what we can produce is not even close.
