ABSTRACT

Starting life in a most un-Adobe way, as a public beta, Photoshop Lightroom has quickly become the raw workflow program of choice for many photographers. It was an interesting approach for Adobe to open up the development process to let the public in to comment and contribute, but the gamble worked. The resultant program is a deceptively simple application that upholds the importance of the digital negative (the raw file) as central to the editing process while providing a full workflow for the photographer.
