ABSTRACT
THE SHOOTER HAS VERY specific requirements when it comes to selecting appropriate lighting gear. In the prehistoric days of my youth when I earned my living shooting industrial films on 16mm ASA 25 film, the “standard” travel kit consisted of four open-faced Lowel lights fitted with 1000watt lamps. Such relatively high-wattage gear was necessary in many instances to achieve minimum exposure-indeed, any image at all.
