ABSTRACT

Light has a hardening effect on the light-sensitive material, prepared by mixing solutions of potassium (or ammonium) bichromate and gum arabic. The film-speed numbers assigned to photographic films vary directly with the sensitivity of the films to light and inversely with the amount of exposure required to produce a specified density. View camera users have various options with respect to processing sheet film, including processing in trays, open tanks, light-tight tanks, drum processors, and roller-transport processors, and using the services of a professional lab. View camera users have a wide choice of sheet films. With double sheet-film holders, the dark slides should be removed and the slides and the holders dusted with a clean brush, preferably an antistatic brush, or vacuumed. When the cost involved in making a large number of photographs is a more important factor than the highest possible image quality, the smaller film sizes have an advantage.
