The voltage at the positive terminal of a battery stays constant until the the cell is exhausted. If we plot a graph of the voltage during a perod of time, the graph for a fresh battery is like this:
The voltage at one terminal of a typical AC generator is shown in this graph:
The graph is a horizontal straight line. It shows that the voltage of the battery is constant at 6 V.
