ABSTRACT

In Final Cut Express 4, as in most video editing programs, setting up the preferences and selecting the correct choices for the material is the first step. After setting the preferences, capturing the media is the second step. These fundamentals are absolutely necessary for Final Cut Express to function properly. The User Preferences sets up to show how to work with the application. The System Settings sets preferences that control the computer. The Render Control panel allows to change the render quality of the material from the default high-resolution to quite low-resolution rendering at low frame rates. Final Cut Express preferences are system based to provide a separate set of preferences for each user. They are not project based. Unfortunately, there is no way to have the Scratch Disks change with whatever the open project is. Thumbnail Cache (Disk) and (Random Access Memory) values are relatively small.
