ABSTRACT
There are probably more variations in style to be found in editing than in any other area of modern newspaper practice. Some editors are writing editors. They have risen perhaps through reporting, political journalism or feature writing and in day-to-day editing they are concerned more with what the words say than how they are presented. They tend to write their own leaders, or editorial opinions.
