ABSTRACT

It is easy to get caught in the trap of thinking narrowly about what the sport industry comprises. For example, on first impressions the sport industry may appear to be little more than sport venues, gymnasiums, clubs and teams, leagues, athletes, sporting apparel and shoes, merchandise, sporting associations, the Olympic Games and government sport departments. While this is a good start, there are many other organisations which are part of the sport industry. Some examples include:
