ABSTRACT

Zoom lenses come in so many varieties they don’t fit neatly into the wide-angle, standard, telephoto, and super telephoto groups. Often a zoom lens will include focal lengths from more than one group. This is a good thing because you don’t have to carry around lots of different lenses. You can probably do just fine with a couple lenses depending on what you like to photograph. A number of Nikon zooms go from wide-angle to the short or mid-telephoto range. A few examples are: 16-85 mm, 18-55 mm, and 18-135 mm.
