ABSTRACT

Stephan Kudelski's 60 years of audio engineering experience has brought forth several of the world's premier field sound recorders for film and television production. Nagras have a reputation for being able to take a great deal of punishment, both in transportability and vibration, field temperature and humidity conditions, as well as plain abuse. Many recorders work fine in the showroom or controlled studio environment, but are just not engineered to handle the demands and hardships of location sound work. The front panel of the recorder is a classic Nagra layout: the modulometer and sensor metering to the left, volume control potentiometers in the center, the Menu panel and Transport controls to the right. The Tape position simulates the behavior of a tape transport. The rotary Main Function selector operates almost exactly like its Nagra IV-S cousin.
