ABSTRACT

There is no substitute for good drawing. The logical approach to good drawing is to rely on basic shapes. Most of the problems that come up are when a character or a piece of that character moves far enough so it cannot be inbetweened – it has to be actually drawn. All of a sudden here is a hand that has to be drawn…from scratch! No model! No hand ever got into that position, or an ear, or a tail, or hair. The extremes were easy poses to draw but the inbetweens are impossible.
