ABSTRACT

In one of the Thursday afternoon drawing classes everyone seemed to loosen up. There was an air of freedom of expression. Lighthearted attitudes allowed for much freer sketching — at times there was a defi nite release of tension, becoming apparent audibly. There were even “hotspots” of hilarity as one or another artist got a little light-headed and ventured into the realm of cartooning. I encouraged it, for I believe it’s okay to be funny at times — after all we are cartoonists.
