6.1 Introduction
As well as organising the technical side of their work, architects and architectural technologists, like all other professional and business people, need to attend to matters such as arranging accommodation, furnishings, and insurance. They also have obligations to the staff they employ, with respect to conditions of work, National Insurance, income tax, and holidays. This chapter deals with such matters.
