(a) Examples of differences Cost and price are not the same and are not necessarily related. Cost is what a company has paid to make a product and deliver it to some agreed place, and it should include a gross margin for the company (see Chapter 12.2(a) on page 156). Price is whatever the company can persuade a customer to pay.
