ABSTRACT
This chapter describes some of the characteristics of Victorian terraced houses and the ways in which they have been ‘improved’ in the past. It shows how changing trends can stimulate the need to improve a home, particularly with respect to the kitchen, the bathroom, thermal insulation and heating.
