ABSTRACT
Many tropical areas yield to recent trends and open up to tourist developments. Many such ‘new areas’ lack access and infrastructure and are not very attractive to local dwellers. A good example of this can be seen in northern Australia. The number, character and variety of coastal environments in the region can be illustrated with a sample taken between Kennedy Bay (lat. 1800’S) and Donovan Point (lat. 1600’S).
