ABSTRACT
Leadership 7 Leadership is a topic which has been discussed for almost as long as we have written
literature, and indeed Burke (2006) reported that by 2006, he could find over 15,000
articles and books on leadership. He also noted that $50 thousand million a year is spent
on the development of leaders. However, this level of interest is not, in itself, a reason to
include a chapter on the topic in this book. It has also been a topic in almost every book on organisational behaviour that has ever been written, but that is also a poor reason to
include a chapter in this book. So why have we included a chapter for your delectation?
