ABSTRACT
Programmable logic controllers (PLCs) are often programmed by using a system called ladder logic. The reason for the name becomes obvious when you look at a ladder logic program. Ladder logic is intended for use in industrial control systems. It is easy to learn as it has a small set of instructions and a graphical way of setting out the program. It is designed for use by engineers, rather than by computer programmers.
