ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the various methodologies of Action Research,

particularly Emancipatory and Participatory Action Research, both of

which have features that make them applicable to the field of sport

management research. Action Research in general is cyclic in nature, with

the researcher working from within the organization to plan, act, observe,

reflect and plan again based on the outcome of the first cycle. This chapter

will provide some methods from which the sport management researcher

can start the process of Action Research within a sport management

organization.
