ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the methodology of phenomenology and looks at some
possible applications in the field of sport management research. Phenome-
nology seeks to explore and understand the lived experience of its partici-
pants. In sport management literature, phenomenology offers researchers
a different perspective and opportunity to explore previously unchartered
waters. This chapter will provide an introduction and overview to the major
concepts of phenomenology as well as provide some suggestions as to
possible frameworks from which to apply the phenomenological method-
ology to sport management research.
