ABSTRACT
This chapter will discuss some emerging issues for future sport management
research and demonstrate how they can be situated in the sport management
research field. Social Network Theory, Race and Critical Race Studies,
Whiteness Studies, Disability Studies, Participant Authored Audiovisual
Stories and Visual Sociology are research methods that need to be considered
for future research projects. Each in its own way presents opportunities for
sport management knowledge to be extended through their application. This
chapter briefly outlines the basic principles that underpin these approaches
and suggests how they might be applied in the field of sport management.
