ABSTRACT
This chapter highlights that undertaking a research study or investigation
requires careful and methodical planning on the part of the sport manage-
ment researcher. It identifies that from the initial idea that sparks the sport
management researcher’s interest, the conduct of the literature review,
refining the research problem, formulating the questions to be answered in
the research topic through to the design of the research plan, the sport
management researcher must carefully review and plan each step of the
research journey.
