ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the key features of professional sport organizations
and provides examples of the unique features of professional sport leagues
and clubs. The chapter does not examine community, state or national sport
organizations, but does comment on the relationship between these orga-
nizations and professional sport, as well as the impact professional sport has
on the sport industry in general.
