This case examines the issues surrounding the involvement of indigenous communities in the Canadian Arctic. On completion of the case you will:

Be aware of the geographical and cultural features of Nunavut.

Recognise that technology has made Nunavut more accessible for tourism than in the past.

Understand how the Inuit communities can benefit from tourism.

Recognise the tourism resource base of Nunavut and the constraints that this places upon development.

Understand how tourism can act as a medium for the Inuit to engage with the wider world.
