ABSTRACT

To build your landscape, the first thing you need to do is create ground by adding a terrain. Think of the ground in your scene as the foundation of your creation. If it doesn't work well, the rest of your scene will suffer. You might be able to pull off an acceptable piece of art by covering up flaws using textures or objects, but ultimately you'll be dealing with an image that is contrived. Even if you're creating low-detailed animation, such as for cartoons, the basic shapes should remain a good representation.
