ABSTRACT
A roof can fail for a number of reasons ranging from poor design and/or poor construction to lack
of maintenance. Failure may also be due to the roof having outlived its designed life expectancy or to the
effect of other failed building elements upon its performance, eg failure of a supporting wall.
