ABSTRACT
Discrimination Act (DDA) 2005 (from December 2006) and to gender by the Equality
Act 2006 (from April 2007).
At the time of writing, there are proposals to extend these duties to all the other strands of discrimination covered by legislation (see Equality Bill below). Whether or
not they become law will depend on how quickly the Bill receives Royal Assent, or the
outcome of a general election. The law here is presented as at 1 June 2009.
