ABSTRACT
The critical path method (CPM) is a systematic approach for allocating resources among activities to reduce project duration for the least cost. Developed in 1957 by the DuPont Company, Remington Rand, and Mauchy Associates for DuPont plant construction, it is a mathematical procedure for estimating the trade-off between project duration and project cost.1
