ABSTRACT
The Building Regulations ~ this is a Statutory Instrument which sets
out the minimum performance standards for the design and construction of buildings and where applicable to the extension of
buildings. The regulations are supported by other documents which generally give guidance on how to achieve the required
performance standards. The relationship of these and other documents is set out below:
NB. The Building Regulations apply to England and Wales but not to Scotland and Northern Ireland which have separate systems of control.
