ABSTRACT
Water is essential to urban life. In cities there are two main water issues, the contamination of water sources and ensuring the supply of clean water. In this chapter we will focus both issues. At the outset we will examine the case of water pollution in US because it has some of the most well-developed clean water regulations in the developed world. We will also highlight water supply and management issues in cities in the developing world.
