ABSTRACT
In the previous chapters we have looked at environmental issues in an urban setting focusing on perceived problems and possible solutions. In this, the final chapter, we want to consider how cities can be and are being managed in order to minimize negative environmental impacts and to promote sustainability. We focus on reactions to growth, the rediscovery of place and urban sustainability. These discourses ask us to fundamentally rethink and redesign existing cities.
