ABSTRACT
Movement is either reflexive or voluntary. Reflexive movement is an involuntary response to an external stimulus and is not subject to significant conscious modulation. Much reflexive movement is mediated at the level of the spinal cord. Voluntary movement requires no external stimulus but is entirely selfgenerated. Voluntary movement is nonetheless subject to sensory input to direct it.
