ABSTRACT

MANY thoughtful persons are distressed when they observe the condition of the mental health of modern men and women. In fact, the systems of Freud, Jung, Adler, and others prove to us that these great thinkers have been extremely concerned about the mental condition of the people. When we study the statistical reports of the hospitals, we find that most of the cases can be classified into two groups: actual mental cases and functional disorders. The functional elements are really created by the maladjustment of mind which may have different emotional disturbances, complexes, dissatisfactions, and frustrations that react on the whole nervous system and result in nerve ailments and disorders. Modern psychiatrists are trying to find a remedy for removing the conflicts and frustrations and establishing harmony in the mind. Noble attempts are being made by outstanding psychiatrists of Europe and America to solve the mental problems of the people.
