ABSTRACT

One of the most frequently performed contemporary playwrights in France today, Michel Vinaver has enjoyed a career as a writer spanning five decades, as well as rising to the top of his commercial profession as managing director of the French wing of a multinational company, a position he gave up at the beginning of the 1980s in order to pursue his career as a playwright. His writings have many points in common with the Théâtre du Quotidien, in terms of language, subject matter and experimentation with different structures, time and form.
