ABSTRACT
Most children in Britain will now have had experience in at least one preschool unit before entry to primary school. Currently some children may be experiencing two different preschool settings consecutively, or even in parallel. There are many points of transition in early education where conflict in expectations can occur: between home and school, between different stages within the same setting, as well as from one type of provision to another.
